After ages of ignoring the need to improve one’s physical appearance, men and society in general have become kinder and accepting of this basic human need to look good in order to feel good about themselves. Gone are the times when grooming and surgery were only acceptable for gay men as the numbers for male cosmetic surgeries increased in the past years. Since 2000, men have become courageous and experimental in their search for that youthful look that they need to boost their self-esteem. For 2014, the top male-focused procedures were the pectoral implants and male breast reductions. To know more about them, read the list and their descriptions below.

Rhinoplasty

They say that the most beautiful face is the one that has the best proportion. Because of this, the nose has earned that pivotal part of balancing everything all around it, blending all the other parts of the face with the lower parts like the chin or the jaw. This is the reason why a lot of these procedures are given with chin augmentation. Aside from having the eye for great proportions and the finesse in shaping the nose in a most natural way, the biggest challenge is to improve the appearance of the nose without feminizing it. No man wants to have a dainty nose. Recovery from this procedure is also pretty quick and that means you can get back to your daily routine after a week.

Double Eyelid Surgery

Looking at a person’s eyes allows you to see the soul of the person. Unfortunately for both sexes, aging is commonly seen or indicated by the area around the eyes. Dead give always would be the loose and hanging furrowed skin, the lateral brows that hover the upper eyelids, and the fat pads just under the eyelids with accentuated tear troughs. Such visible effects of aging can be reversed with this procedure. Your upper lids can be restored to its crisp appearance along with the droopy eyelid. Getting rid of the excess fat in the upper eyelid and creating a double eyelid crease can also improve how the eyes look and make it appear bigger for men who naturally have monolids.

Gynecomastia (Male Breast Reduction)

Nothing can be more embarrassing for a man than to have man boobs. Of course these are not the same as women’s breasts, but the excess fat and skin of that area. The nipples are not spared and these tend to feminize the male chest. To properly reshape this part, it is suggested for the man to get a VASER liposuction, which is an ultrasound assisted type of liposuction, and the direct excision of the sub-areolar glandular elements which can be done with or without areolar reduction. Men in their teenage years or those in their late forties and fifties comprise the clientele for this procedure.

Liposuction

The trending “dad bod” actually highlights how the male specie are treated better by society compared to their female counterparts. However, there is no denying that seeing fat in some areas of the body is still off-putting and needs disappear in the soonest and easiest manner possible. Which brings us to the point that liposuction is not for weight loss, but should be considered as a contouring tool for the areas that are difficult to burn. Because of this, the patients should consider changing their diets and increasing their physical activities before getting this procedure. Otherwise, the fat taken away is easily restored.

Rhytidectomy (Facelifts)

Because it is the first thing you look at, the face can easily give the right or wrong impression on the age of a person. Facelifts take care of the visible signs of aging on the face and the neck. This treatment takes care of the sagging in the middle of the face, the deep creases below the lower eyelids and those along the nose that extend to the corner of the mouth, the fat that has fallen, the loss of skin tone in the lower face, and the removal of the loose skin and excess fatty deposits found under the chin and jaw.

Hair Transplant

Nothing says “old” like a receding hairline can. Fortunately, technology has evolved well and has created a hair transplantation technique that transfers individual hair follicles from the donor part or the recipient part. This procedure has become the best one for male pattern baldness and is actually a minimally invasive procedure that will not put the patient at risk. Aside from the hair on the scalp, it can also be used with the eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hair, chest hair, and even pubic hair. It is also perfect for scars that were caused by accidents or other surgeries.

Dermabrasion

Men are used to ignoring their skin, thinking that being particular with it gives off a vain persona. What men fail to realize is that skin covers the entire body and should be taken cared of too. Nowadays, men have started paying attention to their skin and it is about time. Poor skin hygiene leads to the buildup of dead cells on the skin, which makes it look really dull and tired. It is also the reason for the skin to be prone to aging and sun damage. And because men shave, irritations and ingrown hairs are inevitable. Dermabrasion is advisable for guys who are 16 and above. And because the treatment doesn’t hurt and there is hardly any downtime needed after the procedure, men have started to patronize it.

Chin Augmentation

As the ideal partner of rhinoplasty in the pursuit of the perfect facial symmetry, it makes the facial sub-units proportional to the other parts of the face. A limited lower jaw projection caused by lack of growth gives the impression of a weaker jaw, which essentially diminishes the masculine appearance. For this procedure, the surgeon should have years of experience and a good eye for facial symmetry to be able to provide the enhanced projection. It can be a combination of an implant with the repositioning of the bone and the liposuction of the jawline.

Pectoral Implants

For some men, the pectorals are the ultimately symbol of their manhood and for some men, it has been the elusive dream. There are certain body types that shall never produce those big solid muscles. The good news is that surgery can now be done to bulk up this part of the body and it takes just about an hour and a half to have it done. An incision is placed in front of the armpit, but under the pectorals and will be covered by a waterproof dressing that lets you shower anytime once the procedure is done. Post-surgery care includes taking it easy for 2 weeks and gradually increasing your activities after.

Otoplasty

More popularly known as ear surgery, it caters to the image problems of those who were born with humongous ears and have become the victims of malicious stares. This procedure can correct the defects in the structure of the ear that the patients were either born with or were caused by injury. Specifically, they are macrotia, which is the rare condition of having overly large ears, protruding ears on one or both sides in varying degrees, and the dissatisfaction with previous ear surgery. If the protruding bothers your child, it might be a good idea to start off at an early age, while the ego can still be saved.

How to Show Off Your Curves with Class

Women know what men want and are now empowered to do something about it. Technology has created the ways and means for it and society has already changed its perception of women who prefer to go through surgery to enhance their curves.  Society now calls them empowered women.

With the new curves, women should embrace their new look and feel the power that they have unleashed. Below are some tips on how to proudly show off your new sexy curves with class.

The Right Outfit

You spent a lot of money and risked the danger of being put in a malicious spot by society. Such risks have paid off and people have started to see you differently. But you cannot control people’s minds and there are others who you do not want to attract. There are 3 good reasons for choosing your new and re-vamped wardrobe.

Feel the New Look

Changes have been done on you and that means your vital statistics have been drastically altered as well. Some women forget that and the result would be a frumpy or boxy look that just gives a big disservice to your goal and reinventing yourself into your sexy and confident alter ego. So go through your closet and throw away your old clothes because the diva is finally in the house.

Flexibility to Move

Now that the curves are finally yours, there are certain activities that you have to be wary of, especially those that require your improved breasts to defy gravity. There are clothes that allow you to do such things and make your transition from the old wardrobe to the new one a cinch. No pun intended.

Everyday Safety

Feminists shall totally disregard what men would think of women who wear skimpy or revealing clothes, but the truth of the matter suggests that wearing appropriate clothes all the time is still the best way to go. You do not have to cover your body from head to toe, but just be mindful enough to show just the right amount of skin without inviting the critical or evil eyes of some.

Clothing for the Curves

With your newly found charm comes a whole lot of options that would bring out the curves without making you look cheap or desperate.

Basics for Patterns and Fabrics

Clothes are worn not just to cover you up, but to create the illusion you need for your body type. Because your goal is to show off your new body, stick to fabrics that cling to your body. To further emphasize your new shape, use simple colors or patterns that won’t take away from the intended silhouette. Solid shades or two-tone dresses are perfect for this. You could also go for sheer or soft fabrics that successfully drape your body.

For patterns, bear in mind that vertical shapes tend to make your body look longer and brings attention to your narrow waist when the stripes end at the waist. What you have to avoid would be heavy beading or those fabrics with a lot of embellishments because they do nothing for the curves.

For the Tops

Be on the look-out for tops that really make your curvy bust and narrow waist pop-out. Again, too much volume on the top takes away from the curves so avoid them, not unless your fashion statement involves volume-enhancement on the bottom pieces.

Successful Necklines

Necklines are a bit tricky because lower necklines essentially draw up attention to your face. However, with your enhanced figure, it might do the exact opposite and allow your breasts to get all the attention. Choose necklines that are low enough and don’t expose a lot of cleavage. A good suggestion for this would be your dependable wrap tops. However, be sure to have a small snap sewn where the two sides overlap to prevent the neckline from slipping.

Building on the Empire

Empire waists are also flattering to the curves because they end at the smallest part of your waist, perfectly emphasizing your curves.

Wrap that Belt

Belts also do a good job in drawing attention to your narrow waste. Some tops come with belts sewn into the design, which is also a good idea because the belt is bound to coordinate with the top. However, you prefer to have versatility with your outfits, just buy the belts separately and were them with the top that you want to have for the day.

Casual Shirts

If you are the shirt and jeans type of woman, wear only the fitted shirts, specifically the ones with darted waists and get rid of the boxy ones.

Jack-up those Jackets

Jackets are normally used to cover the body, but form-fitting jackets also do the trick. Also, look for those that match your height. Shorter women should opt for the shorter jackets while the taller women should go for the longer ones. Single-breasted jackets are also less busy, making them ideal for showing your curves.

Peplums

A trend that refuses to go away, these fringes on the waste just gives you the curves that you need. They come in different fabrics and bloom, but they all achieve your objective of highlighting your curvaceous hips.

For the Bottoms

Just as essential as the tops, the bottoms also have specific specifications that would allow you to accentuate your new curves nicely.

Skirt the Issue

Skirts are staples in a woman’s wardrobe but with new figure that you’re proud of right now, there are rules that you should follow. Look for those that fit your waist nicely and with fabrics that are stiff enough not to hang limply or your hips and flare away from your body to further emphasize your shape.

Advantageous to your curves would be the curve-hugging pencil skirts since they skim your figure so well, specially the high-waisted ones. If you are a fan of A–lines, pair them with full tops to give volume to your shoulders and breasts.

Down for Pants

Always remember that your pants should balance out your top. For this purpose, go for pants that have wide waistbands to further emphasize your svelte waist. Boot-cut jeans offer a lot of versatility and you should go for those with subtle flares to help balance out the curve of your hips. Dark jeans also help you look slim.

For Dresses

There are a lot of styles that flatter the body well. However, be very particular with those that emphasize the waist to perfectly display your hourglass figure. Dresses that naturally keep the top and bottom look separate are very ideal and flattering.

Wrap that Dress

Wrap around dresses are also very flattering and gives that elegant and sexy vibe that you want to exude. It definitely brings an air of nostalgia with that air of old Hollywood that it brings.

Create Your Empire

If you want to heighten the glamour part, empire waist dresses are perfect because they accentuate the upper and lower curves.

Diagonally Yours

Form-fitting dresses with a diagonal or bias cut is best for showing a bit more flesh because this dress tends to show off the legs a little more. Just make sure that the dress comes in at the waist and clings on to the hips, falling over your legs loosely.

Celebrity Surgeries that Deserve to be Celebrated

With some of the most recognized faces on the planet, celebrities are under pressure to look their best all the time, regardless of their age and gender. Media has a way of turning them into famous icons emulated for their talents, and most of the time, their physical beauty. Such pressure from the expectations of fans drive celebrities to almost anything to maintain that look their fans have adored through the years. Unfortunately, there are those who either got the wrong doctor or those who had beauty ideas that are far from what they have achieved.

Let us celebrate those who have successfully chosen the right procedures and doctors and the mystery that they have kept burning for all the world to see.

Celebrities Who Nailed Their Cosmetic Surgeries

Kim Kardashian (Breast Augmentation and Buttocks Enhancement)

There are reasons why she has become the most searched celebrity on Google and fortunately, they are mostly good ones. Starting out as Paris Hilton’s production assistant, she already had a pretty face and a body that would catch every man’s fantasy. However, she was determined to become more than a P.A. and this encouraged her to go under the knife and reveal the more sophisticated and alluring look that she constantly flaunts wherever she goes.

Aside from the refined facial features and her ample buttocks, her boob job also got its fair share of attention and she displays them to her advantage. The remarkable thing about her surgeries is how natural they look, even if you are aware that they were done by a doctor already and this is what the others should strive for as well.

Scarlett Johansson (Rhinoplasty and Buttocks Enhancement)

Seduction seems to be Scarlette’s middle name. Her eyes can lure you to anywhere she wants you to go and her body is just as alluring. However, she was not like this in her younger years. She used to be your average teenage girl and her nose was not as remarkable as it is. Her breasts did not get a second glance. Though she never admitted to having surgery, it would be so plain to see the amazing changes and they have helped in shaping the bombshell career she is currently enjoying. Her Black Widow performance was accentuated by her curves and seductive face and made her character hold her own against all her male superhero counterparts.

Maggie Cheung Man Yuk (Double Eyelid)

Though her face was already lovely as it was, she was encouraged to have a double eyelid surgery for a good reason. Her acting career has taken off and the roles she was getting were becoming more prominent. She felt that she had to look better to portray those roles well. When you look at her earlier photos, you would notice the unbalanced creases of her eyes with one more prominent than the other. As the years passed by, they became proportionate, thanks to the double eyelid surgery that makes weaker looking creases appear more prominent.

Bring out the Sexy for Everyone

Exuding sexiness is an attitude that is natural in all of us, but it does help to have the body to really back it up.

Unfortunately, we do not have the same body type as everybody else’s and there are those who are blessed to have really naturally toned bodies while the others need to be content with some flabs here and there.

The situation is not really hopeless, but there are things people can do to achieve that perfect figure without surgery or other medical enhancements. True, surgery and aesthetic treatments results are fast and less hard work is needed to sculpt the body.  It is understandable for a lot of people to favor these solutions. But, treatments are can cost a hefty amount of money.

If you are the type who wants permanent change and are willing to work hard to achieve it, here are some ways you can achieve that sexy body you have always dreamed of.

How to be sexy

Be Resolute

Sculpting the body requires a complete turnaround from the lifestyle that you have right now – the lifestyle that has created your current shape. Physically and psychologically, you have to be ready to own the new body that you are about to have and the resolution to keep it will pave the way for the big change is about to happen. Without that passion and absolute resolution to change your body, there is no point in even starting with your body sculpting plans.

Strategize Wisely

There are a gazillion things you can find on the Internet and most of them can be considered effective or, at the very least, true to what they claim. This is where the strategizing comes in.

Determining Your Body Type

Information is everything and it begins with your target shape. The first thing you need to do is to determine your body type and then build your program around it. Each body type has a different need and way of handling to produce the results that you want. Below are the four essential body types you should be aware of.

Ectomorphs

If you have a thin, linear shape, you are an ectomorph. Though it sounds easier than losing weight, ectomorphs need to gain mass and gain it in a good way.

The Moves

For this body type, compound movements at the gym are the best. Go for squats, bench presses, deadlift lunges, step ups, shoulder presses and bentover rows. These build major muscle groups and defines your body effectively.

The Diet

This body type might have the best diet requirements because the people who are of this type need to eat more than enough. But do not just eat anything. The goal is to regularly supply your body with food with calorie content that is more that what our body needs. Focus on food that contains the right amount of macronutrients like carbohydrates, protein and fat.

The Apples

As fruity as it may sound, apples have a really frustrating situation because they have really slim arms and legs but the midsection is riddled with fat. There is no such thing as spot reduction so this can be really tricky. Another good reason for losing your gut is that abdominal fat cells secrete inflammatory proteins that may cause damage to the blood vessel and the other cells. This might lead to cancer, heart diseases, and even Metabolic Syndrome.

The Moves

What you need to do is to burn the abdominal fat and build muscle mass. The best way to achieve this is through a full body circuit strength training. Couple it with intense cardio sessions and the unwanted fats are sure to go away. Extended hours at the gym will definitely facilitate this. Building muscle mass also increases the metabolism of the body and effectively burn more fat.

The Pears

If your body has a small and petite upper part and the lower part is the heavy one, you are definitely a pear. The goal is to build mass in your upper body and then burn the mass on the legs and thighs.

The Moves

Exercising the body in all three planes of motion would definitely improve the 3-D shape of the arms, shoulders, chest, back, butt, hips, and thighs.

For the upper body, juggle bench press pull-ups, lateral/front raises, triceps, tricep push-downs, shoulder presses, one-arm bentovers rows, and your bicep curls. To accelerate mass build-up, challenge yourself with heavier weights. Fore the lower body, light weight circuit training with high repetitions. One-legged exercises like the power step-ups, single leg squats, single leg good mornings, and single leg medicine ball exercises should be added as well.

The Strawberry

Wide shoulders and a narrow waist give that inverted cone or strawberry silhouette and you tendency is to gain weight evenly throughout your body. You are probably an athlete too. Muscular and with thicker joints, the only time you become overweight is when you overeat and under-train at the same time.

The Moves

Because of this, the program should be a full-body fat burning program. To achieve this, lightweight circuit training with high repetitions is the best for you.

For All Body Types

Regardless of the current shape you are in, here are some workouts and other things that would help you with your sculpting goals.

Jump Training

Jump training or plyometrics and other high-speed exercises may be incorporated in the workout of any body-types. They give you a better body definition and definitely accelerate the results that you are aiming for. The jumps include squat jumps, pike jumps, depth jumps, jump rope and box jumps.

Sprinting

One of the best body sculptors is sprinting. In contrast, you should avoid the long and steady state cardio sessions (40 minutes or more). You only go through this type of training when you are a beginner or recovering from an illness.

Workouts in Your Life

Incorporate your workouts in your daily schedules. Plan everything with your workout in mind. You don’t have to give it more hours. Just give it enough time in the day for you to make it a habit that you can keep comfortably.

Have a Proper Diet

Dieting is not the solution. Finding the right type of food to eat and eating everything else in moderation is the key to a healthy diet that would support your sculpting goals. Do your research and find out the right types of food that you should focus on. Cheat days are alright and should probably be on the weekends. Just be sure to not overeat on those days to avoid an upset stomach and derailed fitness target.

Take the Cosmetic Surgery Route

It takes a ton of commitment to really achieve a sexy body. And sometimes it can get frustrating, especially when you reach a plateau in your exercise routine and diet that progress is slow and close to invisible.

If you want to see sexy body results fast, pairing your exercise and diet with nip and tuck could be the solution you are looking for. One of the most popular cosmetic procedures available for you is liposuction.

The procedure involves suctioning fat from targeted areas in your body using a medical equipment. This can help target problem areas in your body where fat does not budge despite intense workout and diet.

Important Reminders After Your Breast Augmentation

For women who dreamt of having voluptuous and perfectly shaped breasts, a breast augmentation procedure can be the answer to their life-long prayers. However, for those who neglected their post-operative instructions, their dreams can quickly turned into unspeakable nightmares. Like other procedures, the post-operative care is crucial to a quick and safe recovery of the patient and prevents complications that could arise from not following the instructions of the doctor carefully.

Right After the Procedure

Ample amount of rest is very crucial for a speedy recovery after the procedure. So as soon as you get home, take a two-hour nap. Rest the whole day and sleep again as soon as it becomes your bedtime. This process should be completed for four to six weeks.

The prescribed antibiotics should be taken within your first two hours at home or when you wake up from the prescribed sleep and proceed to follow the prescribed instructions on the bottle closely. Just make sure to take the medicine with something in your stomach.

It is expected for the patient to feel nausea from the anesthesia so do not panic when this happens. Besides, this normally takes place in the first few hours after your procedure, specifically while you are asleep.

The Morning After

The first thing to do in the morning is to eat breakfast and take the prescribed pain reliever. After 30 minutes, take a shower. Your arms should be put above your head in a slow clapping motion after you shower. The arms should be straight all the way up while the back of the hands should touch each other. Do this five times and then another set of five every hour.

At this point, it is encouraged for the patient to get out and perform light activities. Normal movement shall encourage the proper healing of the procedure. But since you just had an operation, expect to be a bit drained by noon. Make arrangements for your convenient return to your house. Get a nap once you are at home and then get out again since more movement equals a better feeling.

As you take a bath, you might notice that your scars might be reddened. This is a normal occurrence, which may or may not happen with all patients.

Below are the other concerns that you have to be aware of after your breast augmentation surgery.

Energy Level

Lower energy level is to be expected in the first few days after the procedure. For some, the operation can take more of a toll on the body than what one expects, which make rest a critical factor for the efficient healing of the patient.

Medication

There are several types of medication that post-op patients are prescribed to take and should be taken strictly upon doctor’s orders. Bellow is a list of such medication and some must-know information for them.

  • Pain relievers

Pain medication can be taken regularly, but you ought to take certain precautions if you smoke, drink, or drive. It may make you feel drowsy, or it might even cause an upset stomach. For some people, pain medication makes them constipated, which can be remedied by drinking more water, eating a high fiber diet, or a stool softener medication.

  • Muscle Relaxant

Muscle relaxants are normally given to post-op patients for muscle cramping of the back, chest, neck or shoulders. What is important to note is that it should not be taken with pain relievers because this might cause excessive sedation. Take them at least an hour apart to prevent drowsiness or disorientation. When choosing the specific medications to take for whatever body part is concerned, use the pain medication for breast pain and the muscle relaxant for the shoulders, neck, and back.

  • Antibiotics

Take these for the next five days after surgery. Augmentin is a popular brand, but take something else if you are allergic to penicillin.

  • Anti-Nausea

The strongest and latest anti-nausea brand out there is Zofran which you can take every six hours on the day of the surgery, and the day after. By then, the effects of the anesthesia would’ve worn off, rendering other anti-nausea medications unnecessary.

  • Medications to Avoid

Do not take aspirin, or aspirin-containing medications, within the first ten days after the surgery. For headaches, your best bet would be Tylenol. However, be reminded that pain medications also contain Tylenol and taking them at the same time could create the risk of permanent damage to the liver. It would be best to check the labels carefully and be aware of the amount of medication that goes in your body.

Physical Activity

While it is recommended for the patient to be up and about to prevent blood clots from forming in your legs, you should not perform lifting heavy weights (20 pounds and up), exercising, running, bicycling, tennis, golf, and dancing. The only activities that you are supposed to do are walking, climbing the stairs, sitting, and standing. For all other movements, seek your doctor for approval.

Diet

Because you may feel nauseated due to the anesthesia used, you might want to keep your diet limited to liquids and mild foods like jelly, mashed potatoes and soups. You may eat more as time progresses and there is no sign of nausea anymore.

Bandage Removal

The bandage can be removed two days after the surgery and will have a three-inch square piece of Telfa dressing right over your incision. On top of the incision, you will find smaller tape bandages called Steri-strips, which are slightly adherent to your skin and acts as protection for the healing incision. Once they start to peel off from the incision, you can gently clip the peeled up edges but do not rip them off of your incision to prevent bleeding.

Showering and Dressings

Take a shower once you feel comfortable after your first nap. This will loosen things up and wipe away the fog that came from the anesthesia. As you enter the shower, remove the horizontal tape and white gauze pads that the tape is hanging onto your skin. There are vertical Steri-strips under the horizontal tape. It is all right to wet them. After showering, let the Steri-strips dry. Should there be any drainage or leakage, put more gauze pads over the Steri-strips.

Bras

Soft bras or sports bras are allowed for use after the operation, but avoid the ones with underwires are those that are designed to compress the breasts a lot. They will disallow the proper settlement of the implants and might even cause them to remain too high permanently. Avoid these type of bras for six weeks.

Massaging of the Breasts

There are cases when massaging the breasts can actually promote the healing process. Though it is not needed for everyone who have gone through the procedure, it does stimulate the healing of the breasts. Please consult the doctor for the right way of doing this to prevent the complications that might arise from doing it incorrectly.

If you want to get breast augmentation with excellent and natural-looking results, and have the best post-operative patient care, you trust that our cosmetic surgeons at Esteem Beauty Studio in Australia will you these. Call us now or simply our inquiry form today!

Complementary Procedures for Breast Enhancement

esteem-cosmetic-studio-image4

Next to hair, the breasts are the most scrutinized parts of a woman’s body. For some women, having perfectly shaped and ample breasts enable them to feel good about themselves. For those who are ashamed of the sizes of their boobs, they go at great lengths beyond padded or underwired bras to provide an answer to their desire to have fuller bosoms. It is no wonder that breast augmentation surgery tops the list of the most requested surgical cosmetic procedure among women.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), there has been a big increase in the number of patients who have sought for the procedure. What started in the year 2000 with 212,500 has increased to 286, 254 in 2014. Not only that, among the top five cosmetic surgery procedures of 2014, breast augmentation remained the leader with 286,000, followed by nose reshaping (217,000), liposuction (211,000), eyelid surgery (207,000), and facelifts (128,000).

However, there are some women who want to achieve a holistic enhancement more than just a boob job. Here surgical and non-surgical procedures that would effectively complement the results of a breast augmentation and create a total transformation.

Breast Revisions

This type of surgery allows you to regain your youthful breasts in terms of its contour and appearance. This is usually performed to correct a prior breast augmentation procedure that has resulted in unhappiness with the sculpted size, or shape, uneven or fake appearance, a damaged implant, or wrinkled or rippled implants. Beyond the aesthetic concerns of the patient, some cases involve unforeseen complications like infection while some could have been avoided had the patient sought for really competent surgeons.

Breast revisions are normally performed under general anesthesia and through incisions along the inframammary fold. The recovery period is ideal with most women returning to work a week after surgery and exercising rigorously after 6 weeks. Patients who have their implants removed are expected to recover faster and experience less discomfort than those who opted to have their implants replaced.

Mommy Makeover

Giving birth can be the most gratifying, yet it creates the most dramatic changes in a mother’s body – especially the figure. However, society puts a premium on “pre-pregnancy” sexiness. That is mommy makeovers promises to bring back the glorious pre-pregnancy form.

Aside from breast augmentation, mommy makeovers typically involve surgical procedures that sculpt the body back prior to getting pregnant. This usually includes a breast lift, breast enhancement, liposuction, tummy tuck and thigh lift. And because it involves multiple procedures, mommy makeovers can cost $10,000 to $50,000. Also, it is important to note that multiple procedures mean longer recovery period and a higher risk of complications when post surgery care is not strictly followed.

Nipple Correction

Strategically placed, the nipples are easily seen on top of the breasts. Unfortunately, there are medical conditions that would produce inverted nipples, large areolas or enlarged ones, giving some women with conditions that they are insecure about. Though mostly congenital, other causes for nipple inversion include breastfeeding, prior breast surgeries, or even infections.

A variety of corrective methods are available to correct such nipples and most of them are carried out under local anesthetic and on an outpatient basis, though some would take longer, depending on the required technique of the surgeon. Even if you would be awake and without pain, you still have the option of having a mild sedative.

Anti-wrinkle fillers

The botulinum toxin is very popular among those who want to keep their faces eternally young, especially for the problem areas like the surprise lines, crow’s feet, and the turkey neck on the throat. When injected, it just relaxes the muscles and prevents skin from wrinkling.

While this may seem like too far from enhancing the result of a breast augmentation, a number of women seek out anti-wrinkle fillers to create a youthful appearance of the skin to complement the equally youthful new breasts. Anti-wrinkle fillers are the top non-surgical cosmetic procedure among women, making it a great procedure to get along with the top cosmetic surgery procedure.

Breast lifts

Popularly known as mastopexy, this procedure raises the breast by eliminating excess skin while tightening the surrounding tissues for a reshaped and supported breast contour. The popularity of this procedure has been on the rise since the year 2000 with a staggering growth of 70%. And why wouldn’t it when it addresses a host of breast-related problems like sagging and uneven breasts, decreased breast volume, drooping nipples, and even enlarged areolas.

All of these are caused by uncontrollable reasons like pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, heredity, weight fluctuations, and gravity and should be the only reasons for you to consider a breast lift. Other important reasons would be situations when breast implants will not be enough to achieve your desired contour or when the tissue around the nipple has been really stretched.

Fat Grafts

For women who want to have fuller and more natural breasts, there is the Fat Graft. This procedure uses autologous fat to reconstruct or augment breasts. This is the dream procedure of those who are afraid of silicone implants. A pure and highly effective fat graft creates the possibility of enlarging breasts in the most natural and painless manner. The fat used comes from the stubborn pockets around the abdomen and thigh areas as it gives you the option to reshape the problem areas that have become resistant to diet and exercise.

Other benefits include the absence of foreign bodies, non-invasive surgery, short downtime, and the desired permanently natural look of the augmented breasts. As the implanted fat becomes a part of your breast, the appearance continues to improve months after the operation. As a good side effect, the affected skin becomes softer and tighter, which is large because of the rejuvenating properties of mesenchymal stem cells that are in abundance in the transplanted fat.

No procedures required

For those who are afraid of the knife, there are some things that you can do that would allow you to enhance your boobs, even if these are not permanent in nature.

These include cleavage contouring with the use of make-up, specifically bronzers and shimmers. Wearing the correct bra size always highlights the size and shape of breasts. Also, incorporating food that are known to increase breast size, like avocado and flaxseed, are excellent, natural and healthy ways to boost the results of your breast enhancement procedure.

Regardless of the procedure you choose with your breast augmentation, what is important is to seek out a cosmetic surgeon that will provide you with natural-looking results that harmoniously complements with your other body features.

Top 6 Cosmetic Procedures Every Mom Needs

Being a mom is a beautiful thing that is designed by nature, but it also brings with it a handful of changes.

The pure joy that a baby brings is definitely something special for a new mom; but it is also true that you don’t have to lose yourself in this new role. Your baby may now become your first priority, but it is also important to give yourself the love and pampering you deserve. For some new mothers, they find it through cosmetic surgery.

On motherhood and cosmetic procedures

The moment that a small embryo starts it journey of growing inside you, your body gets swift into several changes due to your hormones working. Your breasts start to swell as pregnancy hormones surge into your system. As your pregnancy progress you will notice weight changes. This stretches out your skin, most significantly on your stomach.

As the uterus increases in size, it also pulls the abdominal muscles apart along with it. This is a primary reason how most moms struggle with muffin tops.

For some women pregnancy will also cause them to deal with troubling skin issues. There are those who experience acne flare ups. Some even believe this to be a result if you are carrying a male baby. Another common concern is the discoloration on the skin on the face. This is called melasma, or the mask of pregnancy.

After pregnancy a lot of new moms struggle with acne scars, uneven skin tone, and loose abdominal skin. Stretchmarks and breast sagging are also major concerns. Eating right and exercise is always a good choice, but for some mothers cosmetic procedures are their solution of choice. This paved the way for what is now dubbed as “mommy makeovers.”

Moms are now stepping up their game by looking good while juggling with the struggles and responsibilities of motherhood. This is not to say that this is a must, but it is an option that is open to all mothers who wish to improve the way they look.  In an article by the New York Times, “Mommy surgery appeals both as a quick fix for stubborn post-pregnancy weight and as a way to control aging itself.”

What does a Mommy Makeover involve?

Surgeons use this term to describe a group of cosmetic procedures, invasive and noninvasive, to enhance the shape of the body and the appearance of the skin in moms. A mommy makeover includes the following surgeries.

Breast Lift

Some women love how their breasts increase in volume and improve in shape during pregnancy. However, this doesn’t last for long because once your hormones return to its pre-pregnant state, so does the breasts. It is unfortunate that as this happens, the skin has already been significantly stretched for several months that it can no longer be the way it actually was before. This results in sagging, and sometimes uneven breasts.

Breast sagging can come in two forms, it can be either be severe or it can be moderate. In this surgery the a portion of the breast tissue, adipose tissue and skin is removed to lift the breasts.

A breast lift alone is the appropriate procedure for moderate sagging only, but if you are experiencing severe sagging you will need a breast augmentation along with it. A breast lift improves the level of the breasts, and it not only corrects sagging but also unevenness.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, or more commonly known as a boob job, is a procedure that can give new shape and volume to the breasts. Implants, either saline or silicone, is placed inside a pocket that is created within the breast tissues.

For mothers who may have lost the shape and volume, breast implants can certainly enhance the form of their chests. But the most important consideration here is that it takes a good surgeon to also create good results. Success requires right planning and good execution so that these breast implants actually enhances your form, and not overpower it.

Breast augmentation allows moms to fit better in their clothes and to feel confident about it too.  This is commonly done with breast lift surgeries to create an overall pleasing effect. This can make the breasts appear youthful too. But you have to discuss this thoroughly with your surgeon because this can also have serious implications with breastfeeding.

Liposuction

Weight gain is an expected outcome during and even long after pregnancy. Getting rid of fats, or controlling weight, is a common concern for most new moms. And this is not because they lack exercise because some actually do, however some fats can really be quite stubborn most especially in the abdominal region. This is why liposuction is a procedure included in mommy makeovers.

Liposuction is a surgical procedure where fats are removed and suctioned out using a long and slender cannula that is attached to suction machine. There are several areas in the body where this can be used. This is often done in the abdominal area since this is a common problem faced by moms.  Other areas that can be toned down with liposuction include the arms, back, thighs, knees, and legs.

This invasive procedure has been around for years now, and since then it has far improved already. Today there are clinics who offer a safer approach through tumescent liposuction where it involves the use of epinephrine and an anaesthetic to minimize the pain and bleeding.

Liposuction trims the stubborn fats in hard to reach areas and it also tones the body. If you want to look and feel better in a two piece suit, this surgery can help you get rid of the embarrassing bulges. This can permanently remove the excess fats, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t balloon in size once again because if you fail to control your food intake and fail to exercise, your fat cells can still increase in volume.

Tummy Tuck

Medically referred to as an abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck is a procedure that can trim the belly fat to make the area flatter. Mom’s who are struggling with muffin tops will benefit from this surgery because it also allows them to fit better in tight fitting clothes and jeans.

As mentioned earlier, the abdominal muscles separate in a process called diastasis recti during pregnancy due to the increasing size of the uterus. It is further aggravated as the mom packs in more pounds. In most cases it can be hard to get rid of these fats, also as moms struggle with controlling their appetite. A liposuction can repair this problem through a process called plication.

A tummy tuck is a cosmetic surgery where the fat tissues are removed in the abdominal area. A long incision that runs across the area above the pubic area is created. This allows the surgeon better visualization to remove the fat and suture the muscles back to create a tighter abdomen. Some of the excess skin may also be removed to create firmer abdominal area. The belly button will also be repositioned because it can be displaced with the stretching involved.

This is done together with liposuction to better achieve a more toned and tighter abdomen. Mothers have to decide if they have are finally done with having kids, otherwise you would end up stretching the skin and muscles yet again.

Labiaplasty

This is a procedure that a lot of women may be apprehensive about, but it has already been around for quite a while now. Also known as genitoplasty, this surgery  modifies the labia minora which is the inner portion of the vagina. This can be caused by multiple childbirths, and it can be  discomforting for a woman especially when wearing tight clothes or pants.  Aside from the aesthetic value, this also allows women to feel more comfortable.

Chemical Peel

To correct uneven skin tone, a chemical peel is among the popular procedures requested by women. This treatment uses a chemical that can initiate peeling and also promote skin rejuvenation.  The chemicals come in different strengths and can promote different depths of peeling and rejuvenation.  The aesthetist or doctor will be the one who will determine the kind of peel that is appropriate to use.

If soaps, creams and serums can’t get you a clearer complexion, a chemical peel gives a more significant change and improvement. But it requires an certified and experienced practitioner to ensure safe and successful results.

This treatment can have moms feeling rejuvenated and looking youthful after a single session, and even more dramatically after several sessions.

A happy mom can also raise happy children, and ultimately a happier home. So if pampering yourself every once in a while will help you feel more better about yourself, then these are your options available for mommy makeovers. Moms also need the love and care you deserve, and there is nothing wrong in indulging yourself. But also make sure that you only get a reliable professional to do the job if you want it done right.
